India stocks lower at close of trade; Nifty 50 down 0.64% – India stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in NSE, the lost 0.64%, while the index declined 0.47%.

The best performers of the session on the were Bharti Infratel Ltd (NS:), which rose 6.46% or 17.00 points to trade at 279.75 at the close. Meanwhile, HCL Technologies Ltd (NS:) added 3.02% or 28.55 points to end at 969.40 and Yes Bank Ltd (NS:) was up 2.11% or 4.55 points to 219.60 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. (NS:), which fell 30.92% or 134.15 points to trade at 318.40 at the close. Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (NS:) declined 8.11% or 570.70 points to end at 6513.40 and UltraTech Cement Ltd (NS:) was down 6.93% or 262.70 points to 3510.80.

The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Yes Bank Ltd (BO:) which rose 2.71% to 219.65, HCL Technologies Ltd (BO:) which was up 2.54% to settle at 971.25 and Bharti Airtel Ltd (BO:) which gained 1.81% to close at 307.05.

The worst performers were Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (BO:) which was down 7.40% to 6516.35 in late trade, Hero MotoCorp Ltd (BO:) which lost 4.23% to settle at 2670.05 and Tata Motors Ltd DVR (BO:) which was down 2.48% to 90.55 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1223 to 369 and 58 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1799 fell and 662 advanced, while 143 ended unchanged.

Shares in Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. (NS:) fell to 3-years lows; falling 30.92% or 134.15 to 318.40. Shares in Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (NS:) fell to 52-week lows; down 8.11% or 570.70 to 6513.40. Shares in Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (BO:) fell to 52-week lows; losing 7.40% or 521.05 to 6516.35. Shares in Hero MotoCorp Ltd (BO:) fell to 52-week lows; down 4.23% or 117.95 to 2670.05.

The , which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was up 1.46% to 17.6900.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.18% or 2.25 to $1282.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.28% or 0.15 to hit $53.28 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.11% or 0.07 to trade at $61.16 a barrel.

USD/INR was up 0.30% to 71.206, while EUR/INR rose 0.57% to 80.7075.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 96.105.
