The worst performers of the session were Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. (NS:), which fell 30.92% or 134.15 points to trade at 318.40 at the close. Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (NS:) declined 8.11% or 570.70 points to end at 6513.40 and UltraTech Cement Ltd (NS:) was down 6.93% or 262.70 points to 3510.80.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Yes Bank Ltd (BO:) which rose 2.71% to 219.65, HCL Technologies Ltd (BO:) which was up 2.54% to settle at 971.25 and Bharti Airtel Ltd (BO:) which gained 1.81% to close at 307.05.
The worst performers were Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (BO:) which was down 7.40% to 6516.35 in late trade, Hero MotoCorp Ltd (BO:) which lost 4.23% to settle at 2670.05 and Tata Motors Ltd DVR (BO:) which was down 2.48% to 90.55 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1223 to 369 and 58 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1799 fell and 662 advanced, while 143 ended unchanged.

(NS:) fell to 52-week lows; down 8.11% or 570.70 to 6513.40. Shares in Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (BO:) fell to 52-week lows; losing 7.40% or 521.05 to 6516.35. Shares in Hero MotoCorp Ltd (BO:) fell to 52-week lows; down 4.23% or 117.95 to 2670.05.

USD/INR was up 0.30% to 71.206, while EUR/INR rose 0.57% to 80.7075.
