Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the added 0.19% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the were Cielo SA (SA:), which rose 9.48% or 0.96 points to trade at 11.09 at the close. Meanwhile, Via Varejo SA (SA:) added 9.48% or 0.38 points to end at 4.39 and Log Commercial Properties e Participacoes SA (SA:) was up 7.70% or 1.25 points to 17.49 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tim Participacoes SA (SA:), which fell 3.77% or 0.49 points to trade at 12.50 at the close. Gerdau SA Pref (SA:) declined 2.56% or 0.41 points to end at 15.59 and Marfrig Alimentos SA (SA:) was down 1.43% or 0.08 points to 5.51.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange by 230 to 194 and 35 ended unchanged.
The , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 0.60% to 31.67 a new 3-months low.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.36% or 4.60 to $1287.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.50% or 0.26 to hit $52.62 a barrel, while the March US coffee C contract fell 1.28% or 1.35 to trade at $103.95 .
USD/BRL was up 0.82% to 3.7108, while EUR/BRL rose 0.45% to 4.2669.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.37% at 95.143.
