Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the rose 0.26% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the were Ageas (BR:), which rose 1.81% or 0.700 points to trade at 39.400 at the close. Meanwhile, Engie SA (PA:) added 1.74% or 0.23 points to end at 13.46 and Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:) was up 1.17% or 0.74 points to 63.94 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Proximus NV (BR:), which fell 3.26% or 0.78 points to trade at 23.02 at the close. Argen-X (BR:) declined 2.75% or 2.70 points to end at 95.60 and Telenet Group Holding NV (BR:) was down 2.03% or 0.84 points to 40.54.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 57 to 54 and 13 ended unchanged.
Shares in Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:) rose to all time highs; rising 1.17% or 0.74 to 63.94.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.19% or 2.40 to $1289.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.32% or 0.17 to hit $52.19 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.18% or 0.11 to trade at $61.33 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.26% to 1.1511, while EUR/GBP rose 0.01% to 0.9024.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.25% at 95.028.
